Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the Onrise services.
Is Onrise right for me?
Onrise is right for you if you are an athlete at least 13 years of age and have an internet connection. No problem is too big or too small. Onrise is here for your mental wellness. We can help you navigate difficult situations, act as a sounding board, a listening ear, or provide strategies. Onrise proactively addresses stressors in athletes' lives. Whether a problem is just starting to bubble up or you’ve been dealing with it for years, Onrise is here for you.
How should I reach out to Onrise to schedule my first session?
Go to onrisecare.com/get-care-now and follow the instructions from there. Additionally, you can always call our office (865)288-8970
What can I expect during Onrise sessions?
When your session is about to start login to your portal and click “appointments” on your home page. Your first session will look a little different than your follow up sessions. Your provider may ask you some background questions about your family, your educational history, and your athletic journey. From there, your follow up sessions will be geared towards your current situation and stressors. At the end of your session, you can schedule your follow-up, or you can later message your provider when you know your schedule. Your athlete peer support specialist will act as a sounding board, a listening ear or provide supportive strategies. What is really special about your athlete peer support specialist is that they have been in your shoes- or cleats! Athlete peer support specialists know what it is like to navigate life where you are right now, whether it is transitioning to college sports, transitioning out of sports, navigating an injury, suffering from a career ending injury or difficulties with your coaching staff, teammates, or a roommate. They also know how to celebrate the wins with you too. Made the Olympic roster? Started in your first game? Set a personal record? That’s amazing! We’re here to celebrate those wins as well!
How long is are Onrise sessions?
Sessions with peer support specialists, therapists, psychiatrists and nutritionists are typically 45minutes long.
How will I communicate with my provider?
Once paired with a provider you can easily communicate through your messages in your portal.
How do I schedule a follow up session or reschedule my session?
Your provider will schedule your follow up at the end of each session. At Onrise, we know that athletes' schedules can change and are often unpredictable. If you do not know your schedule at the time, you can later schedule a follow up with your provider through messages. If you need to reschedule, let your provider know through messages. If possible, please give 24 hours’ notice.
What is your session cancellation policy?
Please message your provider in your portal 24 hours before a session to reschedule or cancel.

Like any journey, your mental health journey is dynamic. If you were feeling much better, or a life change put your Onrise support on hold, we welcome you back at any point intime. You can either message your previous provider in your portal and let them know that you would like to meet again.
